“The Divas will be getting rowdy as well, as Women’s Champion Mickie James will battle former champion Beth Phoenix in a Divas Lumberjack Match. Can Mickie survive The Glamazon again with many of The Sexiest Women on Television surrounding the ring?”

Melina Comments on Maria in FHM |
Melina, along with other divas, has commented on Maria’s recent appearance on FHM’s “Sexiest Women” list:
“On the other hand, one of Maria’s Raw counterparts considered the Diva’s spot on the list a joke.
“Are you serious? She’s in the top 100?” Jillian laughed. “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, they were thinking about putting me in, but then they were saving me for the Billboard Top 100, so they didn’t put me in this year.’ But I guess maybe they gave it to her since I wasn’t available.”
One of Jillian’s fiercest allies, Melina, sided with Raw’s pop princess.
“If they picked Maria for the top 100 Sexiest Women, then I guess they don’t have very many girls to choose from and not very many people voting,” Melina said, rolling her eyes.”

PEPPER POTTS IN “IRON MAN”
Welcome to the first edition of M-P.org’s Starring Roles - a feature that connects WWE’s A-List Diva with the Hollywood  lifestyle she often projects. With this, we will examine certain female roles in current and topical films and see how Melina could embody those roles.
This week, with the release of “Iron Man”, we’ll look at how Melina could take on Gwyneth Paltrow’s role of Virginia “Pepper” Potts, the secretarial assistant to Tony Stark, better known as Iron Man.Pepper Potts is known for her intelligence and business sense, able to cover the running of Stark Industries for Stark as he is out socializing. She is very serious in demeanor in contrast to her wisecracking boss. The two, although no romantically linked in the comics, appear to become involved with each other in the film. So, while Pepper likes to broadcast a more button-down image, she clearly feels a sense of longing for a more carefree life with Tony Stark.
So, how does Melina fit into this? Well, Melina is seen as a serious Diva - she often sports a scowl and takes out her anger on her opponents in the ring. She is not one of the more sexual Divas - in fact, she is known for her outspoken criticism towards Playboy and the Divas who pose for it. Continue…

Melina to Appear in Danity Kane Music Video |
Gerweck.net is reporting that Melina, along with several other Divas, will be appearing in a new Danity Kane music video for their single “Bad Girl”.
“Following the success of “Damaged” from the No. 1 smash-hit album “Welcome to the Dollhouse”, Diddy’s dark angels Danity Kane will film the video for their second single “Bad Girl” next month in Los Angeles. In the video Aubrey, Aundrey, D. Woods, Dawn, and Shannon will take of the Divas of WWE wrestling; Kelly, Layla, Maria, Melina, and Mickie. Which ‘bad girls’ will win the fight? The video will be directed by Melina (Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo - not to be confused with the WWE’s Melina) and debut this summer!”

Things started off with Kelly and Beth, who attacked Kelly from behind after a pre-match scuffle. Not quite Garnett vs. Pachulia, but it’ll do. Victoria took a tag, then Kelly snapped off a head scissors, but the heel divas cut her off and went back to work. Kelly then blocked a handspring elbow from Jillian and tagged out to Mickie, who rolled up Jillian with a bridge pin for the win.

Phoenix and McCool started out. McCool hit a dropkick and went for a belly to belly suplex, but Phoenix hit a knee to the gut but missed a charge. McCool hit some shots, but Phoenix powerslammed her. Melina tagged in and threw McCool face first into the mat, then applied a bridging chinlock. Melina hit a sunset flip, but McCool rolled through it and hit a dropkick. Mickie James tagged in and traded shots with Melina. James hit a flying headscissors and a clothesline. Natalya tagged in, but Mickie got the better of the exchange at first, only for Natalya to deck her and knock Cherry off the apron as well. Victoria came in and missed her standing moonsault on Mickie in the ring. Meanwhile, Cherry walked around the ring and pulled Natalya off the apron, leading to a brief brawl on the outside. Things settled down, and we had Ashley giving Jillian a slow motion rana. Phoenix kicked Ashley from the apron, then tagged in and worked her over with a cobra clutch. Phoenix used a double chicken wing, but Ashley rolled out of it, kicking Layla, who was running in, as she did so. Mickie was hit by Phoenix, and Mickie ran in and gave her a DDT. We then went into a sequence of every woman running in and giving her finisher to someone else, who would then roll to the floor. It ended with Phoenix getting back in and giving Ashley a fisherwoman’s suplex for the pin.

Internet Confessions - “The Women’s Championship” |
Melina’s at it again with her “Internet Confessions of a True Diva”, this time discussing Mickie James’s recent Women’s Championship win and why she thinks throwing her a celebration was unneeded:
Last year at Backlash, I had one of the most competitive matches of my career for the Women’s Championship against Mickie James. We fought tooth and nail for that title! We are wrestlers! We work so hard and put ourselves on the line for the highest honor to hold … the Women’s Championship.
One year later, bravo to Mickie James for regaining the championship. A win is a win. I give it to her. But my anger is not at her championship win. I’m upset because I feel that these girls who gave Mickie the party do not take wrestling and what we do seriously. I am still in awe that these girls threw a little party to celebrate Mickie’s championship win. They just did it for attention! Come on people!!!! So they can get dressed up and prance around. Don’t any of these women want the championship?
Every girl who hugged Mickie saying congratulations was hugging her thinking, “I want that championship, and I am going to take it from you”? Well, I hope so, because it’s a normal thing to think if you are a true competitor. If none of those girls had that thought cross their mind, they shouldn’t even call themselves wrestlers. Continue…

12-Diva Tag Match at Backlash |
WWE.com has announced a massive match for this Sunday’s Backlash. Divas from RAW, SmackDown, and ECW will compete in a 12-Diva tag match. WWE.com has the details:
“At Backlash, the WWE Diva divide comes to a head as new Women’s Champion Mickie James captains a team of the Sexiest Women on Television against former titleholder Beth Phoenix and her squad of sultry competitors.
Just more than one week ago, Mickie scored one of the biggest victories of her career against The Glamazon, ending Phoenix’s lengthy reign as Women’s Champion. But before she could celebrate, Mickie found herself confronted by the former champion, who argued that the loss was nothing more than a fluke, a slap in the face to The Glamazon. Then, in front of a ring full of Divas, SmackDown’s Michelle McCool used an open palm to show Beth the true meaning of such a slap.
The ensuing all-out melee ultimately ended with the fan favorite femme fatales standing together, united against the oppressively dominant Glamazon and her group of WWE’s more nefarious women. Now, this collision will continue inside the ring in a much more official capacity on Sunday at Baltimore’s 1st Mariner Arena.
Which team will prevail as Mickie, Maria, Ashley, Michelle, Cherry & Kelly Kelly face The Glamazon, Melina, Jillian, Layla, Victoria & Natalya? Tune in this Sunday on pay-per-view to catch the spicy Diva action at Backlash.”
