FOX IN “WANTED”
Welcome to the eighth edition of M-P.org’s Starring Roles - a feature that connects WWE’s A-List Diva with the Hollywood 
lifestyle she often projects. With this, we will examine certain female roles in current and topical films and see how Melina could embody those roles.
This week, with the release of “Wanted”, we’ll look at how Melina could take on Angelina Jolie’s role of Fox, the deadly and mysterious assasin. She is the second-in-command of The Fraternity, a league of assassins who recruit Wesley Gibson, a slacker in his mid-20s who is the oblivious son of a legendary assassin. Fox is adept in weaponry and physical combat, able to slip into dangerous situations (such as hanging out of the window of a moving car) and come out unscathed and triumphant. Her cool demeanor brings an allure to her, making her seem unattainable and almost unreal. Tougher than any man she’s come in contact with, Fox looks to uphold justice, even if it means countless calculated murders.
The smooth and deadly attitude that Fox projects is easy to imagine coming from Melina. The evil looks Melina is prone to giving, along with the mysterious nature she loves to show - a smirk here, a look there - make her perfect for the role of an alluring assassin. Handing out beatings in the ring and moving deftly while doing so shows her grace and ability to outsmart an opponent. Melina’s frequent use of kicks and submissions hint towards a stealth ability, one that Fox shows off quite often in the movie. The one factor that Melina may have to work to portray is the outright cold attitude - she’d have to limit her smiles and sharp tongue. Fox is often quiet and collected, and while Melina doesn’t project that in her own WWE character, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to see her do it on screen. Besides, who wouldn’t want to see Melina covered in tattoos, wielding guns and jumping from windows? That would certainly be a sight to see.
